beIN Sports is part of beIN MEDIA Group - a global leader in TV production, distribution and media rights acquisition, a diversified sports and entertainment media company counting 55 M+ Pay TV subscribers and 30 M+ Social Media Fans and Followers.
In 2016, they needed to modernize and improve their live sports streaming website for mobile devices, whilst tailoring their content for a variety of audiences across a regional split.
I led the livestream websites (connect.beinsports.com) overhaul and international deployment and maintenance for beIN territories – France, MENA, USA and Canada.
I also led the UX design and development of new key features such as the On Demand and Replay pages.
beIN Connect Sports is a subscription-based website that provides online streaming. People have to subscribe to a specific package and proceed with payment to access video medias.
Though the framework is the same, the site is customized per country, meaning each can offer bespoke options and experience for users, live matches and streaming, depending on the local region’s broadcast regulations and business model.
Fully integrated with all beIN SPORTS’ systems and solutions using 3rd provider's respective APIs. This required also to coordinate actions with live streaming, CRM and TV providers on a day-to-day basis.
Managed and prioritised requests coming from the various stakeholders at beIN - about 20 people based in different countries and timezones. The site istself is also localised in several languages including Arabic.
My ability to adapt quickly to any organisation and to be business-oriented, allowed me to prioritise tasks - evolutions and bug resolution - efficiently for the business
I fully managed this client account on my own. Managing the client relationship, the financial reconciliation and claims as well as the new project developments and the maintenance of the 4 websites.
Having joined Maverick, I quickly become responsible for leading the developments of beIN Connect France website, which was the most important site business-wise as well as the most complex with several user cases and millions of subscribers.
